Disappearing Socks

Category: Ponderings            Friday, November 2, 2007 at 3:42 pm

Our neurotic cat Dun, while still weary of Addison, is now obsessed with Addie’s socks.  Dun seems to get great pleasure out of swatting discarded baby socks literally throughout the house (I found a pair two floors separated from where I left them).  I often take Addie’s socks off as my office warms up in the morning.  I had taken to leaving the socks at the top of the stairs with other things that needed to go downstairs the next time I left the office.  But, now that Dun thinks they are perfect cat toys, I need to find a safer place for the socks.  I thought my desk would be a good place, but he steals them off of there too!  Compounding this issue, Addie knows how to, and often, removes her own socks while playing on the floor, leaving them in prime Dun stealing locales!  And I thought it was bad enough keeping the dryer from eating the tiny socks!  Ah silly, silly cat.  He’s still up for adoption if anyone wants him….

It must be ghosts in the house. How can an invisible cat steal socks. I don’t think I have seen Dun since he was a kitten. Those fast escape glimpses don’t count. If you could get him to pee on the socks and then take them to the washer that would be great.

I helped Matt & Nikki finish their move Wednesday night. We went out to a good Mexican restaurant in Manchester afterward. Ask Matt or Nikki for directions. He is off to Texas this week.
