The guy has time to freakout. The birth is not the problem for the guy but the stress the wife is in, and if your lucky the guy is within grenade range of the action. This is from one who has shrapnel wounds.

Actually the whole thing is different for everyone. I cannot think of many things quite like it. The best thing is to find something to do to focus your attention, to keep you busy, and that that you can drop right in the middle and not worry about it.

The only real advise I can give you is accept everything and not try to plan or anticipate the event. Hard to do when a planner is involved but maybe even more important for our type. I'm sitting here thinking that I could be sending out this advice tonight and you may read it some time next week after the birth. I could be writing to a lady in labor.

So cute that I was actually picturing Z Monkey saying that... took me awhile (by end of third sentence) before I was like "Waaaaaaaait a minute! Boys can't give birth to their own babies!"

I hope when "push comes to shove" that your active labor is quick and not drawn out!

The 27th huh? I hope its sooner than that! To continue the saga, I went to work yesterday, for my official last day, with minimal symptoms all day. However since last night I had more on and off contractions. I'll have a serious of contractions for an hour or two then nothing for hours. I'll keep you all posted.

Oh my goodness! Best of luck and I hope that things progress well! I can already picture Zipy driving like a crazy man to the hospital. From all the stories I have heard from other women, it is the guy who is more of the basket case when the time comes. I guess it is just that motherly instinct that you were talking about that just lets the mommy know that everything is going to be okay.

Funny thing is that at work today I wondered several times if you were having signs today or if you were in labor yet. I guess my suspicions were correct!
