Bragging
So I figure I should write about the game last night. The score ended up being 5 to 5 and since Red is a really good team I’ll not complain about that. The team was a bit different than normal with our goalie playing center and one of our centers playing goalie, and with Tizzom playing center for me and his roomie filling for a missing D. I got to play as Heidi’s left winger, which was nice because she knows where to be and where I will be, and I like play wing better than center (mostly because then I can pressure forward a lot more, there’s nothing better than stealing the puck from someone and going unabated to the net… except perhaps that plus scoring. Got to work on that.).
As for my own personal performance, I had three goals and no assists (though on our goalie’s goal I did help by stealing the puck, pulling it around back of the net and passing it out front).  The first goal was a sally of a backhander that I did not see go in because I had my back to the net. For my second goal, I just camped out on the right posted and knocked the puck out of the air when Dave shot it on net. Okay it was only like 1 or 2 inches off the ice and I almost missed far side, but I was in really good position. As for my last goal, I don’t really know what happened except the puck can flying at my chest so I crosschecked it, stuff happened, then it rolled in on edge. Slow like.
In general we did pretty well, though we got beat a couple of times on D. Plus I was a heck of a lot more tired after last night than normal. Must have something to do with there only being two lines and skating harder than normal (?).

Since we’re keeping score, I had 2 to 3 assists, a plus 4, and a bunch of almost goals! Oh and my head smashing into the boards managed to stop everyone on the ice! If only the puck was still in our zone; we could have taken better advantage of the shock and horror my head cracking noise caused. Luckily, my helmet did its job, minus the slight bruise under my chin from the strap! The head smacking was part of my “be aggressive, be-e aggressive” campaign to skate around like crazy and generally get in the way of the Red team and make the occasional good, assist-like, pass to my hat trick husband. While I’m at this bragging, I predicted Zipy’s 3 goal night during pre-game locker room banter. Actually, Zip was whining about the tape job on his stick and I said, “Hey, maybe the new ghetto tape (i.e. running out of friction tape half way down the blade) will allow you to score 3 goals instead of 1!”

f#$%ing camper!
Just kidding. A winner is you! Well, maybe not technically, but good job anyway.
How many other people play on the same team as their wife? And how cool is that?
