Yes people are stupidly short-sighted and selfish (the four S’s if you will). Also, a bulldozer? Don’t they know you can’t fight city hall?! Though, on second thought, a bulldozer probably could fight city hall.

Too many all day and night meetings. Give me one bourban, one scotch and one beer.

A cascade of cataclysms. Expect a Katarina, Pakistan earthquake, an Indian Ocean, Tusanami or the like once or twice a year from now on. Too many people living in really dangerous places. The cataclysms have not increased but the targets have. We have too short memories.

Positive thoughts one and all. Look on it all as an altenative job opportunity.

since you read more (actual books as opposed to contemporary crack-books) than I do, you should post more about things you`ve read and what you`ve derived from them. That way we could learn from them without having to read them ourselves!

or, you know, just rant about things in general. that`s always fun to read as well. You`re right, though, when you post about the news I`m usually like “I already read that” and when you post about work I think, “what is he talking about.”
